North Shore and picking out the perfect Christmas Tree!

North Shore Beach
A few of us ended up going to the North Shore last Sunday, which was a lot of fun.  The waves weren't very big so there wasn't great surfing, but it was still nice to be at a new beach.  We were told that the waves can get up to 25 feet in about a month.  We checked out Haleiwa, which is a small surfing town filled with shops, restaurants and food trucks.  We didn't have a lot of time to explore, because we had to go pick out two Christmas trees before sunset (when the tree farm closed).  I will definitely be back to North Shore to see the other beaches as well.

Our mission was to find a tree for the Cafe and a tree for Robert's (the Cafe manger's) home.  They go to this random place near the north shore that has cut your own Christmas Trees.  I wasn't too sure what to expect since I am typically used to going to a small tree farm in my town with my family and either my grandfather or I literally cut down the Christmas tree.  We arrived and it instantly started to rain and not just the light rain that we have had only twice since we arrived, but actually down pouring.

The people were really nice and gave us umbrellas and then we went into the tree farm to pick out our own tree for the people to cut down and then attach to the top of the car. The trees were so funny for me and some other people because it literally has at least a foot in between each branch.  I couldn't stop laughing at the look of the trees, but also the fact that I was in the middle of Oahu somewhere picking out Christmas trees. A year ago this is not where I thought I would be.
